I might be buying another VW.... its a 89 rabbit cabriolet...aka cabby its white with euro bumpers. has no title and no interior, but has motor and tranny! it is an auto though  but for 150...Imma think hard about it. Brendan thinks we can get it up and right for under 300...and 300 more for a newer model (mkiv) 5speed...get a quick and comfy set of seats for the fronts and leave the rears out....and we are good. titling and reg is cheap too! So Im talking myself into it. Get it running then use it to get parts for the bug....or sell the bug. Lord knows it wont stay stock for long....hella flush, better than doing it to the corolla. |

Well, the cabby I posted before isn't the only one being put to me. Brendan knows of one in better shape (read: runs and drives), but needs a new top. For only 400$ instead of a missing interior'd one for 150$ that doesn't run. And this one is a 91 with a title.  I will hopefully go see it soon, and we will discuss more from there. I will take pics and post them on here for everyone to see. |

Nice. Looking forward to seeing pics. I wouldn't bother buying a car without the title. It's a PITA to get one issued for it. Good luck with the search. You put the other one up for sale?

not officially. I havent fully decided what to do with the bug. Its mine and paid for, so I dont wanna part with it, but its gonna be way expensive to build, motor alone. the 89 cabby's title is still with the previous owner from who I am in talks with, and he has the guys number. the 91 is more of a complete car though...either way, it should be fun

well, this week has already started with 2 good surprises, 1, I will be starting work on the bug, finally. -and- 2. The white Cabby I was gonna get, I am getting now. And he is pretty much giving me the car, and pay him whenever, if-ever for the thing. He just wants it gone. I will be taking it home this week, hopefully tomorrow night, and then Brendan and I will be slowly getting it to run right and look right. Time to make me a hawt lil sleeper vert....hehe. again, major downside to the Cabby, it is an auto car, but thats alright, it will make for a nice turbo application somewhere down the line as money comes in. |
